Bio: Ohio Northern national champion Emily Richards completed her sixth season under contract as a professional runner in 2023 ... She is currently under contract with running apparel brand Tracksmith and is coached by ONU track and field head coach Jason Maus ... She first signed with Tracksmith in 2022 ... From 2018-2021, she held a contract with shoe company Hoka One One and represented the Hoka New Jersey New York Track Club under Coach Frank Gagliano ... Richards has also served as an assistant track and field and cross country coach at Ohio Northern since July of 2020 ... Richards was a nine-time NCAA Division III national champion and a 13-time All-American during her four seasons at ONU from 2015 to 2018 ... She won the 800-meter dash title five times and the 1,500-meter dash four times ... She was also an All-American in the 800 and the 3,000-meter run in track and field and was an All-American in cross country, finishing ninth at the 2017 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships ... 2023 - Qualified for the USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., in July and advanced to the semifinals in the 800 meters, finishing 12th overall in 2:02.59 ... Ran a time of 2:02.11 in the first round to place 16th of 30 runners and qualify for the semifinals ... Competed internationally in Bermuda, Canada, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Luxembourg.

2022 - Qualified for both indoor and outdoor USATF Championships ... Made the outdoor semifinal in the 800 meters ... Set new personal-best times of 2:00.2 in the 800 meters at the Ed Murphey Classic in Memphis, Tenn., and 4:10.56 in the 1,500 meters at the Sound Running Meet in Los Angeles, Calif.

2021 - Qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in the 800 meters, running a 2:02.10 at the Stumptown Twilight Meet in Portland, Ore., on June 3 to qualify ... Placed 32nd of 42 qualifiers, running a time of 2:03.88.

2019 - Finished 23rd at the USATF National Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, running for Hoka One One ... Qualified with a 2:00.67 and finished the first round in 2:05.83.

2018 - Finished 12th at the USATF National Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, running for Hoka One One ... Qualified with a 2:00.67 ... Finished the first round in 2:03.35 and the second round in 2:02.78 ... Won four NCAA Division III Championships and was All-America five times as a senior at ONU ... Was also an All-American in cross country, finishing ninth at the 2018 NCAA III Championships.
